hello,

I think it's time I change the password on my Option 11c's.  What is the correct procedure for this?  Thanks

Here's from my notes:

How do I add new logins and passwords?

Start by logging in with the Level 2 login/password, and then you need to figure out what login/passwords (LAPW) you already have in the system.  To print logins and passwords, go to LD 22:

PRT
PWD
PWD2 (enter level 2 password)

You can use 00, 01, 02, etc.  If you need to add a new one, first figure out which number you're going to assign it, then go to LD 17.  Once you get into LD 17 (there is more info on this in the Software Input/Output Guide), you have to login with the level 2 login/password.

CHG
PWD
PWD2 (enter level 2 password)
LAPW (00-99)  Put the new one you want to use, and assign a login name too.
OVLY ("all") the rest you can default

If a user wants to change his or her own password, they can do it themselves:  CHG, PWD, LPWD (type the old password), NPWD, (type the new password).  That's it.

To delete a login/pwd, follow the same procedure above to add, but when you get to the LAPW prompt, type x1 or x2, etc., for the one you want to get rid of.  Don't worry about the leading zero.

First you need your admin2 login info. If you have that,
login your switch with admin2
Print your current login's
ld 22
prt
pwd
(admin2 password at pwd2 prompt)

Ld 17 To change/add users.

I wish I have had your notes, not for this issue alone, but for general purpose notes other then NTP. I am short of it.
