Nested Crosstab Drill-Through

Hello,

I am using Cognos Report Studio 8.4

If I have a crosstab report as follows:


Product            Year -->
   |            Qty    Sales     Qty    Sales
   V

Year is dynamic, which is why I use a crosstab. I want to be able to click on Qty to drill through to another report and see the data based on Product and year. It does not pass the year parameter. Data for the product is displayed for all years. Am I doing something wrong or is Congos unable to perform the task?

Dear qberta01,

I am very much interested in your solution.
I want to go to a detail report using the Product_id and Year_id from the selected crosstab field.

Can you explain how you solved this?

The solution is not perfect, but this is what I did:

1. Unlocked the page.
2. Clicked on the field where I wanted the drill through and set the parameters.
3. Changed the foreground color of the field to blue and underline value(to resemble a hyperlink).

What makes it ugly is that it's not a hyperlink so hoovering over it does nothing. Also, cursor does not change to an arrow. Maybe some javascript can fix that? Anyway, I hope this helps.
