Hello,

In my company, we have a pix 515e since 2005.
It has three interfaces (LAN, WAN, DMZ).

We just add a new adsl internet access and I want to add a new ethernet card on the PIX (WAN2).

I want to use one internet access (the guaranteed throughput)
on the first wan interface and the second internet access (the non guaranteed throughput but higher bandwidth) on the second new.

My questions are the followings :
Is the hardware of my pix 515 compatible with a pix-1fe card ?
Can I configure a wan interface (WAN1) to output to a specific internet access and a second (WAN2) to output to a second internet access ?

Here is the "show version" command result of my PIX :

Cisco PIX Firewall Version 6.3(4)
Cisco PIX Device Manager Version 3.0(4)

Hi,

Cisco Pix 515E can support up to six physical interfaces with an unrestricted license, and yes your pix will support pix-1fe card, however the license on your pix is restricted so you won't be able to use the card without a license upgrade.

Hi,

The problem now is how can I get a license upgrade ?
PIX is no longer supported by Cisco.

Have you got a solution ?

Thanks.

Why not just migrate to the Cisco Asa...

Because of the price !!!

You should still be able to get an unrestricted license key for the PIX although it is end of sale. Have you tried the following link: http://www.cisco.com/go/license

And yes you can have multiple public IP addresses on separate interfaces.
