Selenium Testing Uknown Commands

Selenium Testing Uknown Commands

(OP)
Hello Kind and Wise Teck-Tips people.

I have just started using Selenium ID and I cannot figure out how to run certain tests. Not sure if they can be run or I am just ignorant of the command names.

The first thing is how to check lists are in Alphabetical order like Ann Ben Charlie, cannot be done by confirm text present as the nature of the site means order and names involved will change any idea's?

Next is how do I check the colour of a text i.e. that the text is blue or red?

How can I identify one image from another?

RE: Selenium Testing Uknown Commands

For all of these requirements you will have to write your own commands that extend the built-in selenium commands.

The order of items in a UL is not that tricky (since you fail as soon as the text of one LI is out of order).

The colour of text could be done by checking the class that was applied to the item (assuming you are adding a class to an item to set it's colour).

Images... you are going to have to check the src attribute of the IMG directly.

Take a look at customising Selenium... see if it's something you are able to do and will to do... and give a shout if you get stick.

Cheers,
Jeff
