I recently set up a web site for a friend of mine using PHP.  The friend also has a WordPress blog (out on WordPress.org) which was set up by somebody else.  She has lately told me she would like to have a 'snapshot' of her blog appear on the home page of her new web site.  I have been searching for information on the various widgets and other tools that are available, but it is very slow going.  All I really need is to show a bit of the more recent postings.  Any pointers you can give me?  (The KISS principle definitely applies here.)

RE: RSS from WordPress blog to another PHP website.

solution 1:
migrate the blog from wp.org to your own domain.

solution 2:
google for javascript rss widget and choose any of those that appear to pull the rss down from the wp.org blog

solution 3:
do the above (soln 2) using a php rss reader (just google the terms - there are loads available).

RE: RSS from WordPress blog to another PHP website.

the fact that i have provided only three solutions should not be taken to imply that this is the universe of solutions.  there are loads and loads of ways to skin that cat.

You helped me ask the correct question.  I found a widget that does the job.  Thank you!
