EX3200 setup

EX3200 setup

(OP)
Hi, I am a somewhat knowledgeable Cisco guy who now has a bunch of Juniper EX3200 switches to support. I want to enable snmp and monitor them via Solarwinds. It appears that they were put into production with no configuration. The first time I connected via console, it ran the EZSetup and thought I was setting an IP and SNMP, but alas, I still cannot ping it. Clearly I have a new OS to learn. Anyone care to offer a quick way to get this done, and recommend a good book or site on working with junos?

Thanks!

James

RE: EX3200 setup

I believe you can download documents from Juniper here: http://www.juniper.net/customers/support/

I downloaded all the documents for the SSG20 from the site that I needed.

RE: EX3200 setup

Agreed, get your hands on the docs, I'm sure you'll find JUNOS very familiar if you're used to working with IOS. Mostly you'll be changing a work here or a little bit of different syntax, but it's not difficult at all to transition. I know 3 or 4 other Cisco guys where I work that picked up JUNOS quickly, and strangely they seem to like it better...
