Hi all

I have been working on an application for Windows CE 6.0 for a few months now, it is written in C' using the .netCF framework.

When I switch the unit on each day .cab files, SQLCE cabs to be exact, which I have installed the previous day are no longer seen by my application, when I try execute the SQL code it says missing dll.

If I then run the cab installs again CE says they already exist, but I install them anyway and my application then see's them.

Why might this be happening? It's not an issue now, I just have to re-install the cabs each time I restart the machine but it will when this goes live.

Any help appreciated
Regards
Endo

Can you make the cab's "read only"?

Instead of using Active Synch to install programs on my CE machine, I like to extract the cab, set it to Read Only, copy it to an SD card, and run the cab from there. This way it won't auto-delete when the installation is done.

Thanks for the reply Tommy. I will try your method of installing the cabs and let you know if it works.

Go here, and scroll down to "CabInstl". This is a small program that can install cabs to directories other than the default.
