Visual Source Safe replication

We have 2 sites. Our programmers are in 1 site and the VSS server is at our datacenter. The programmers complain that it takes too long to do anything due to the slow link and distance (VPN tunnel) We do not want to move the VSS server as this is very valuable to us so we are looking at a way to setup another VSS server on site B for the programmers to work with and synchronize it with the main vss server at our datacenter. We thought about using DFS but I have not found any successful examples of anyone using this without corruption issues.

Any ideas or pointers?
We use visual source safe 2005 by the way.
