Hi,

I have a Windows 2000 PC fitted with an Equinox SST-4P PCI Adaptor which gives an additional 4 COM ports (COM7, COM8, COM9 and COM10). These are then connected to four separate modems. Suddenly I am unable to access these from my application. Additionally if I use HyperTerminal to try and access these it comes back with "Unable to open COMx"  if I try and open a COM port directly and "Connecting" for a second or two before saying "Disconnected" if I select a modem. If I check the devices via 'Device Manager' it says everything is working. I have re-booted, checked all the connections, checked the phone line, etc and am at a loss what to try next? Any ideas much appreciated.

Regards,

How about reinstalling the drivers for this card?  I used a 2-port PCI card (not Equinox) in a W2K installation recently and it was fine.

Check out the Port Settings - Flow Control.
