Cause of Communication Exception or Service unavailable exception

Hi,

We have build our application using Spring framework and Spring-ldap library. We frequently see Service unavailable or communication error in our application logs. Though Spring-ldap library gives us the ability to recycle dropped connections but we want to know the cause of the issue. Our the connections dropped by Weblogic or Ldap server? Or is the problem with Sping-ldap library. How can we minimze this issue?

If you're using the eDirectory server for your LDAP services, you can run an ldap trace and try to track down whether it's server related or whatever. The trace will show you a lot of valuable information.

You do the trace from the server itself but it's complicated to explain.  Check this link:

Thank you for the reply! I am also interested to know if there's a connection time out property on Ldap Server too? Will increasing the timeout helps the dropping of connections? Thanks again for the response.
