How to reset admin password for RMU on Quantum Scalar 100?

We have a Scalar 100 tape library and we don't know what the admin password for the RMU is. We have tried removing the RMU module and leaving it unplugged for a few minutes and then reinserting it but, that changed nothing. Thedefault login of admin with a password of secure doesn't work.

We bought this unit from a wholesaler and they don't know the password. Quantum is unwilling to help us because we didn't buy it from an authorised reseller.

If I flash the RMU with a new or the same firmware using the serial port will that reset the password?

Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

NOt sure about re-flashing the firmware. When you pulled the card, did you notice if there was a lithium battery for backup?  You may need to pull the battery to clear the memory.
