we have a vmx 200 with 8 voice ports.

we are getting ready to replace it with new system from nortel, so I would like to know how many users could be in voicemail at a time on our current system.

since we have 8 voice ports, does that mean 8 people can be in voicemail at a time?

First why?
You will not get a better and more stable/reliable voice mail system. winky smile

Yes, 8 ports means that 8 callers can enter the voice mail server simultaneously.

thanks for the info.

the why is that the system is 15 years old and we have been told there are no parts available if there are issues.

that and the fact that it backs up to floppy disk makes me nervous.

It should not make you nervous...

We still have a few of these O200's running quite stable and reliable, also using the same HW (HDD and power supply) for 15+ years...

We have still some spare part but these are also old ones. On eBay they sell spare parts and full systems.

There is LAN backup with the LAN card and feature.

You can only use this feature if you have s/w Serenade 1.0 or higher, preferable 2.0 or 4.0. You also need the LAN card and a license for the LAN cord.
Check your s/w level by @l f.
