'Frame' Errors on bonded E1 Multilink interface (MLPPP)

'Frame' Errors on bonded E1 Multilink interface (MLPPP)

I'm seeing approx 2-4000 'frame' errors per second on an MLPPP interface on one of our Cisco 7206s (12.4-16). The Multilink interface is used to bond a couple of E1s, but both E1s are running completely error free. If I temporarily shutdown either E1, the errors stop.

On the CPE there are no errors on either the serial interfaces or Multilink interface. It's a Cisco 1841 (12.4-15)

There are also a few packet drops on both multilink interfaces (i.e. CPE and edge router)

I've Googled quite a lot and can't find a thing! Any ideas?

The edge router config is below. The CPE is exactly the same.
