I am tryingh to build a new tty port and each time I enter the port #, I get a error code,SCH5576; Invalid device number - may conflict with already existing ADAN device
number.
How do I find out what ports are availible to use?

that does not tell you much about vacant ports.. ld 37 stat shows tty's in service..

CODE

TTY  0 : ENBL   DES: J_P
TTY  1 : ENBL   DES: Seb
TTY  2 : ENBL   DES: Hill
TTY  8 : ENBL   DES: Spare
TTY  9 : ENBL   DES: Spare
TTY  10 : DSBL   DES: Soft
TTY  11 : ENBL   DES: CORE0
TTY  12 : ENBL   DES: CORE1
TTY  14 : ENBL   DES: CDR
TTY  15 : ENBL   DES: Dave

my load 37 shows the built tty's
then my load 22 shows

CODE

  Q  prt
TYPE adan tty 1

ADAN     TTY 1
  CTYP QSDI
  GRP  4
  DNUM 1
  DES  Seb
  FLOW NO
  USER MTC BUG OSN
  XSM  NO
  TTYLOG       0
  BANR YES

so i am using int 1 grp 4 device 1.. card type is qsdi, a 4 port paddle board.. so now i look at either the physical board or my other adans to see if i have dnums in that group that are not used
