Mod function returns over flow error

Can someone please help me by explaining why this statement returns an error mesaage in vb. the digits are also double variables
dim a as double

a = 446763600000 mod 31536000
returning overflow

The Mod operator or the integer division operator "\" will produce an overflow if either operand is larger than 2³¹ - 1 = 2,147,483,647.

You need to do it this way

446763600000 - Int(446763600000/31536000) * 31536000
