When deploying a number of applications (lights-out) it seems workstations using version 4.90 of the Novell Client 'hang' in the login splah screen. When given C-A-D it runs correctly.

Any ideas how this is possible? Since we're phasing out Novell updating the clients is not an option.

Thanks for your help!

Whats the point in fixing it if you're phasing it out anyway?

I will be long gone here when Novell is phased out, but before i go i want to deploy a number of apps. I've decided to upgrade the clients anyway, even if only for 6 months.

My only worry is that the deployment of client updates will encounter the same problems, i.e. that the installation process will 'hang' in some cases. I vaguely remember reading something about this issue (might also be caused by ZfD, i'm not sure..) but i can't find it anywhere..

So have you got a clue what might be causing this? I will upgrade all workstations to the Novell Client version 4.91 SP4 and ZfD 7. Well i hope i will, since i can only guesstimate how many workstations will be affected by this problem.

Thanks for your reply!
