PreTest of FormScape Branch / FormScape Server V3

PreTest of FormScape Branch / FormScape Server V3

(OP)
Hello,

is there a way to perform a pretest (check layout) of a formscape branch (created for Zebra 105 SL) without the need of this printer ?

I thought about setting up this printer on the FormScape server and connect this printer to PDF-Output.

Thanks for any hints on this.

Regards,

Tom

Tom,

Not sure exactly what you're looking for here, but here's a few things that might help:
1 - from a Branch file, you can do Print Preview by clicking on the Print Graphic object.  You can print to any available printer by clicking the printer icon.
2 - you can temporarily redirect output to a test printer by clicking on Printer objects in the Branch file - select from all available printers here.
3 - you can utilize the same printer names in both prod and test environments, but have them defined differently - so CHKPRINTER on the PROD formscapse server is the true production printer, while CHKPRINTER on the formscape dev/test server is a laserjet on the developer's desk.

Hope this helps, Neil

Hello Neil,

thanks for your reply. To make the issue more clearly here some additions to my initial posting:

I receive a .FSP file with a specific branch from a programmer doing the work offsite with FormScape tools. The programmer says, that there is no way to test the branch himself (except those designed for laserprinters), as he does not have the destination printer available (i.e. Zebra ZM400).

So I have to go to the departement where the destination printer is located, test the Branch and have to go back with the results.

This results in delays going online with the form and so I am looking for a preview solution even for Zebra Z 105 SL and ZM 400.

Best regards,

Tom
