What is your advice? Since I had to reformat my laptop the PM gives the message: CAN NOT SEND POSTSCRIPT TO DISTILLER.
As it is it was always working well with Pagemaker 7.0, Adobe Reader 7.0, Adobe Distiller 5.0 which I got once installed (Adobe: Acrobat 5: Acrobat, Distiller...) on WinXP.
All the programs we install from external Hard Disk, which is out of order at the moment.
So like many times before we formated the Laptop. I installed the programs from a Backup DVD. I installed PM on C/Programs/Adobe/PM. Then I copied Adobe 5 (incl. Distillr) to C/Programs/adobe/Adobe/ Acrobat 5. Then I installed the Acrobat Reader 7. Then at the end I installed the Postscript Driver (Generic Postscript Printer LPT1).
Any PM file that I want to export to PDF and which have worked before now gives the message: Can not send Postscript to Distiller.
I have reinstalled everything several times and tried everything I know. But it gives the same message again. I also tried saving and exporting only to my Documents.
You mention that "compose to" printer is not "Acrobat Distiller. Indeed instead I have the only choice of Generic Postscript Printer LPT1.

The work is all about very beautiful and rare books. When they get to see the light of the day we will all be very fulfilled. These are Sanskrit Classics of Ancient times and innocent romance for the modern World.
With that problem with the Distiller I am quite helpless, it used to work very well and we even got already first Prints of these precious books. But now we are working on versions to be put to CD, then the external hard disk got a problem and we have to do without.
It would be great you could help us with your knowledge about our PM Problem.

Thank you, Vrinda

You need to change the Generic Postscript Printer port to FILE:

Re: CAN NOT SEND POSTSCRIPT TO DISTILLER.

For help in installing PM and getting Export… AdobePDF… to work correctly, see:
