Norton "Pop-ups" - Help please

I run Norton Internet Security 2008 - Everytime I boot-up my computer I get a pop-up telling me that I have disabled my anti-virus.
But I haven't disabled it - when I check in Norton Protection Center all sections are green and say "secure".
I then run an independant anti-virus test and each time Norton performs correctly and blocks the test.
Can anyone help stop this irritating pop-up - Thank you - Claire
