For some reason my act "tab" is not showing in the tools options.  I have repaired outlook and it did not make a difference at all.  The act! extensions is showing and is checked on add-ons.  Should I re-install act?

My system:
ACT! by Sage 2007 (9.0) Version 9.0.1.162, Hotfix 1,
Windows XP
Outlook 2003

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Have you added ACT! as an address book in Outlook?

I had to re-install act completely  but I was able to upload that address book.  Still didn't work.. I went the the add-ons in outlook and the Act! extensions was not checked.. I checked it and it finally appeared.

Thank you so much for your help... It's little problems like this that make Act such a pain for an end-user

It's not so much ACT! as it's the complexity of dealing with all the different apps (especialls Microsoft) that users want ACT! to connect to.

Glad it's working for you now.

One last question... Since the email is now working FINALLY and I do greatly appreciate your help.  When a client replies to an email I sent out and it's now in my inbox.. is there a way to attach that reply into act?

It's a bit better in ACT! 2008 (10.0), but in your version, when you open an email in Outlook, there should be an icon Attach to Contact.

This will bring up a box to select the contact and allow you to attach it.

Mike,

You don't realize how much you are helping me and I GREATLY appreciate more than you know.  When I click the button it gives me the option of who to attach it to.. but it never shows up

Am I missing something?

It can take w hile (it does it in the background) and the you need to refresh (Ctrl-F5) to get ACT! to re-read the data.

"I GREATLY appreciate more than you know" - I get told that a lot. Now if only I could figure out how to make money from my knowledge and for being so altruistic with it winky smile

Hi,

I had a similar problem - go to Outlook and select the help tab.

Select Microsoft Outlook and then the disabled tab - and you will probably find that ACT has been disabled.
