I have a simple question. When I order an IP500, and one of the 16-port expansion module (say for example, the Digital Station 16), they come in the color white. I know Avaya makes 30 port grey ones that match the color of the IP500, do they make the 16 port version grey. IF so, what is the part number, if not, when are they going to?!?!? It look pretty cheesy when we install it onsite with white exp mods, and a grey processor IP500, it’s looks like a mismatch of equipment even though it’s just color differences.

I dont think they are ever going to bother with the 16 port dig. The reason I say this is because of the DS8's you can put on the main unit for the 500.

They probably never going to make then grey
i think the ip500 is going to replay at least the small office and the 406 (my opinion ,not based on anything at all)
like the provider said, the ds8 card that fit into the ip500 can be placed (three max)
But i agree it is a big cost for a customer if you only need to a few ports when the only possibility left is a ds30

tlpeter.

I agree in full in what your saying. Again based on nothing.

Why bother with the SOE/406.
Why not bring out a cheaper to make varient which can be built up in a hardware perspective and also license perspective.
Its a way to make the product available to all really.

I saw an S08 Modul in Grey in the Avaya PreStaging House in Dietzenbach. But I don´t know if they put it on the market!

That could be possible
the S08 is the only one that is not availeble in a card

I wish it was a card.

in the real world you have competitive bids... and there is a huge cost difference between 16 vs 30 ports. Of course we all use the built in modules if we can, but when they are filled up with goodies, sometimes all that is need to satisfy a requirement of the customer -is that 16-port exp mod... and it's in the color WHITE... that's all. It's just an annoyance.

Do I really want the customer to pay an additionial $XXXX dollars for the color grey and 14 more ports you'll never use... and lose out on the bid???? ummmm.. No. Wish Avaya would make these grey. It's called uniformity and it's pleasing to the eye... :)

We got a grey 16 port through last week, by pure chance I think as we have had white again since!! But it appears they do make them!!

I have heard on the grapevine, this may be complete rubbish, but i have heard that they may make some front plates in the near future so you can buy the 400 mod with a 500 plate and swap it.

Besides which. the IP 500 was going to be white and changed at the last minute. I saw a white 500 in the V4 update training room.

If they had done that, then all would have been fine.

Just something else to prove they like the ACM more!!!!!!!!!

They should have made the ACM white!!!!!! :-)

Fooball is not a matter of life and death-It is far more important!!!!

The early IP500 trial kit was light grey. Then at some point 'it all suddenly went dark' (an appropriate expression for being forced to match the ACM way of doing things).

There are already IP400 expansion modules that have been rebadged and coloured as IP500 expansion modules (as said DS30 and a Phone30). Word is that this range will be expanded as part of the 4.1 launch.

Given that they are essentially identical except for the colouring and the holes drilled for rack mounting, Avaya's main concerns will be not getting themseleves left with too much stock of the wrong colour.

New designed modules are out now, but has anybody heard if we can get some front panels in dark grey for the moduls that hab been already shipped out?
