SONY SDT-S5000 Tape Drive & ARCServe 6.1 with WIN2000

Have recently changed server operating system from Novell 3.2 to
Windows 2000 Server and cannot get tape drive to work.   The server hardware
is new and the Sony DAT drive on the old server was transferred to the new server.

The drive is a Sony SDT-S5000 & the backup software ARCServe 6.1
Have downloaded and installed WIN2000 driver contained in SONYDDS.EXE from the Sony Website but this makes no difference.  Anyone else experience of this - I guess
that the problem may exist for any similar model of Sony.  Microsoft have been
very helpful and simply say "this drive is not supported in Win2000" !!!
