Hello,

i am a user of Novell 3.2 since long. I am only a user and not technical person.

In my system there is a 2 HD , one contain SYS and other Hd contains other Volumes. Since Yester day , my sys HD could not get mounted. Vrepair did not help as I feel my SYS HD is crashed.

I have backup of SYS volume in my other PC.

Will you please help me to set sys on Other working HD ? so I can uses my server

If NetWare can't see the drive (because it crashed), you're going to have a hard time getting data off of it. the OS has to be able to access the drive - it's that way with any operating system.

Does VREPAIR see the SYS volume at all?   Does "LOAD INSTALL" - Volumes (I think) show a volume?  can you see the drive at all in the Disks/partitions configuration?

I'm assuming that since this is NetWare 3.2, it's a pretty old server and the hard drive is 10GB or less.

Just login with your workstation and copy everything to your C: drive so you have a backup. That way when the drive croaks, you'll still have data.

Build a new server and just copy the data back.

Novell is not outdated.  If anything, Windows is. They're still running version 2003 on the server. Novell has had 2 major releases since then.

You need to boot with the NetWare CD#1. It is bootable if you did it right.  You should download and use the NW6.5 Overlay CDs for Service Pack 6. You can find these at Download.novell.com
