hi
using version 11.5 sp2
dell powervault 112t (showing up in device mgr as IBM....)

backup failing very often. often when you open the program, it says it cant login using username caroot. i get around this by stopping and starting services , using authssetup /p

i do a small test job and it works ok but the main job wont work. the main job backs up 6 different servers and uses multiplexing. i ofthen get the error "cant use multiplexing with file devices, raid / nas etc". this message is now gone also but job still wont work. i took out all tapes and put in just one but its now failing saying cant connect to group 1. it should be using group 0 i think and i have selected to use any group?? any help greatly appreciated

With just one library, if you are going to use the group wild card consider having only one group to avoid any of those problems.

In the OS Device Manager disable the tape library and drives.
