Storage State Monitoring Rule not alerting via E-mail

mbarnes536 (IS/IT--Management)

For some reason MOM 2005 will not e-mail me when it generates an alert about low disk space.  All the other alerts that I have setup do except this one.  The only difference about this rule is that it runs a script to find out the amount of disk space.  also the notification group is setup to send me alerts.  Any Ideas?

Are you using the standard disk space rule that is supplied with the MOM Management Pack?  Or is this a custom script that you wrote to perform a similar monitoring task?

Is the rule applied to the respective computer group?  Are you receiving the alerts withing the Operators Console?

If you are seeing the alerts in the Operators Console, then it's most likely a matter of the response rule not being setup properly.  Double check the response action for the rule and be sure that you have the respective notification group applied.

I hope you find this post helpful,
