Can't ping 2950 switches through Frame-Relay

Can't ping 2950 switches through Frame-Relay

(OP)
I have two 2621 routers connected using subinterface (Serial0.1) to a Frame-Relay. That is working fine but I can't manage to make the switches ping each other through the Frame-Relay. Switches are connected to the routers' F0/0s. Do I need to configure any routing protocols, static routes, nat? I would be grateful if you could pass on a bit of knowledge. I am trying to get the hosts (or switches) talk to each others over Frame-Relay using the topology: Hosts > Switch1 > Router1 >  (Frame-Relay)  < Router2 < Switch2 < Hosts.

Thanks in advance

RE: Can't ping 2950 switches through Frame-Relay

Are you able to ping the F0/0 of each router from each router?  What are the IP's of the F0/0 and the switches?

Cheers mate! and good question... no, I can't ping F0/0's from a router to another. I can only ping both S0.1's over the frame-relay. Configs below

Switch 1 = Vlan1 192.168.0.10 255.255.255.0
Router 1 = F0/0 192.168.0.1 255.255.255.0
Router 1 = S0.1 172.16.10.1 255.255.255.0
<Frame-relay>
Router 2 = S0.1 172.16.10.2 255.255.255.0
Router 2 = F0/0 192.168.0.2 255.255.255.0
Switch 2 = Vlan1 192.168.0.20 255.255.255.0

RE: Can't ping 2950 switches through Frame-Relay

Any reason you have both LANs on 192.168.0.x?  Try changing Router2 F0/0 to 192.168.1.2 and Switch2 to 192.168.1.20.

Well spotted, effective, accurate reponse and much much appreciated Mr Webber. Will try my best to soon outsource the security settings, configs etc to a pro (!)
