Smitfraud-C.toolbar888 - can't get rid of it!

Smitfraud-c.toolbar888 showed up on a spybot scan, but it couldn't remove it.  I also ran Windows Defender and Norton,neither of which even detected it.  Could you help me?  It is a Dell latitude D500 with XP.  Here is a hijack this log:

Hi Maggie,

This may be a false positive from Spybot. I've spent a few minutes looking through the log but I don't see any obvious infection.

You ought to wait a while, hopefully Pechenegs will check it for you and let you know his thoughts on it.

There are some things you could remove that are unneccessary, might as well do them all later though.

Are there any signs of infection? Pop-ups, slowness, odd error messages, etc.?

Do you have the Spybot log you could post or details of the suspected file and its location?

Thanks, satrow - I didn't see anything much either, but I am no expert!  Here is the entry from the spybot fix log pertaining to Smitfraud:

Smitfraud-C.Toolbar888: Settings (Registry key, fixing failed)

I looked at the registry - these are the entries that have values:  Dllname: C:\WINDOWS\System32\LgNotify.dll, Logoff: SebringUserLogoff, Logon: SebringUserLogon

I also did a search to see if I could find any files with "sebring" in them, but no luck.

I have noticed that things are a little slow lately, but put it down to Norton and Windows Defender, which seem to run at odd times.

Might be worth you flagging it up for Tablet users - XP Pro forum perhaps?

When I had toolbar 888, it showed up in add/remove programs and I was able to remove it that way.

Option 1 does not change anything, it just creates a log.
You could run that and post it here to see if anything shows in that log.
