hello, i am completely new to bar coding....

  can I ask for some links,tutorial on where can I start and generate bar codes.

  coz I need to create an ID where cardholder can use it as log-in and log-out. Each code should be unique.

  how do i generate each barcode according to the id number? is there a software for this ?

 need advice.thanks

wakeendev,
if you are familer with VB and have your tables set up you can use the following site to generate barcodes. It contains info,fonts and functions.
http://grandzebu.net/informatique/codbar-en/codbar.htm
You will probably want to use 3of9 or 128.
