Scanning / Reading 2D Barcodes

Dear All,

We have forms that contain printed data (which must be reentered) and a signature (which needs to be scanned and retained).

I would like to get the data included in a 2D bar code (we need about 300~500 characters) and then when the form is scanned this could be automatically ‘read’ into the database.

I’m fairly well acquainted with access and VBA, can anyone recommend a package that will allow me to read a scanned document from within this environment?

Finally can anyone suggest a barcode format? I was considering either Data Matrix or Aztec. Is there any reason why I should choose one or the other?
