Everytime I try to backup my databases through enterprise manager, I get a error stating that the backup device (drive f:) cannot be opened.

The errorlog shows:

2000-05-08 13:32:09.55 kernel   BackupDiskFile::CreateMedia: Backup device 'f:\program files\mssql7\data\BACKUP\' failed to create. Operating system error = 3(The system cannot find the path specified.).
2000-05-08 13:32:32.86 kernel   BackupDiskFile::CreateMedia: Backup device 'f:\temp' failed to create. Operating system error = 5(Access is denied.).

Can anyone offer a solution?

Is f: a network drive? if you look at the error log posted you have access denied errors. Check permissions on the files/directories you are trying to write to.
