Rockwell ACF2 K56 with Windows XP problem

JohalaReewi (Programmer)

Have got an ISA Rockwell ACF2 K56 voice/fax/data modem which works fine with Windows 98 and Linux but doesn't work with Windows XP pro (SP2).  The modem is recognised by the hardware wizard and shows up as working in device manager (on a COM port).  However, when I issue AT commands to the COM port (using hyperterminal or KEA), nothing happens (except a timeout).  I have tried both the Standard modem driver and the Rockwell ACF2 K56 driver (found on the web) but no luck with either.  I also found on the web that Windows XP does not support the ISA bus.  Is this true?  Can I get this modem to work with Windows XP?
