IBM THINKPAD T20 WON'T POWER UP

IBM THINKPAD T20 WON'T POWER UP

(OP)
My T20 worked fine, and now will not power up at all. I removed the CMOS battery, the internal battery and power supply and pressed the power button for about 2 minutes and put everything back. The system started fine for a couple of times and now will not start even after performing the above action. I have changed the CMOS battery and I'm sure it is good. O/S is XP Home. Anyone have any idea what to do now?

RE: IBM THINKPAD T20 WON'T POWER UP

I had a similar problem with one of our laptops.  IBM suggested this:

Take out battery.  Press the on button 17 times quickly.  Plug in the power source and boot the system.  Shut down the system and replace battery.  Unplugg power and reboot.

It worked for me!

I HAD TO REPLACE MY SYSTEM BOARD.
