VDN Naming Conventions (Not Changing with Vectors)Helpful Member!(2)

Good Afternoon All. I am having a problem with my VDN’s in regards to incoming calls. I have noticed another post with the exact symptoms I am experiencing, however no resolution was given, only the statement that the problem has been resolved.
Question:
Incoming calls get directed to one VDN, with the associated vector. If a customer presses 1, they are directed to another Vector, however the original naming convention remains. If the customer presses 2, same issue. What I am trying to do is as follows:

So, customer comes in on VDN 5000 which is directed to Vector 22. Customer has 2 options. Press 1 and go to vector 1 (Queue Test) or press 2 for vector 8 (Service Test). So if a customer presses 2 why doesn’t the name on the Agents phone reflect Service Test and vise versa? Also, where is the a=info 2 coming from? Your time and efforts are greatly appreciated.

In regards to the a=info 2 this has been determined to be the option the customer presses. If customer presses 1, they are routed to vector 1 which states a=info 1 and if customer presses 2, they are routed to vector 8 which states a=info 2, however the names remain the same regardless of which vector the customer is routed to. Any thoughts?

Create 2 new vdns with the names of Que test and Service test, then add vector 1 for que test in the vdn and 8 for service test, allow vdn override, then in vector 22 put route to number ( New VDN ) instead of goto vector 1 or 8 if digits = 1 or 2

From what I understand VDN Override only works when you pass one VDN to another, it does not override a Vector Name.

You need to create 2 new VDN's that point to Vectors 1 and 8. They don't need to be DID's, any extension in your dialplan will do. Name these 2 VDN's the name you want to appear on the display and make sure that Allow VDN Override is set to 'Y'.

Change lines 05 and 06 of Vector 22 to point to these VDNS.

I sincerely thank both of you for your posts. The idea of having the vector route directly through the VDN with override enabled, never even occurred to me. I created 2 new VDN’s and changed vector 22 as follows:
   
01 goto         vector 75  if holiday          in     table 1
02 goto         vector 90  if time-of-day      is all 18:00 to all 08:28
03 goto         vector 90  if time-of-day      is fri 17:00 to mon 08:28
04 collect      1    digits after announcement 4852
05 goto         step   9   if digits           =      1
06 goto         step   10  if digits           =      2
07 goto         step   9   if unconditionally
08 stop
09 route-to     number 4050             with cov n if unconditionally
10 route-to     number 4055             with cov n if unconditionally
11 stop

After a few test calls, it is working perfectly. It is exactly what they were looking for. Once again thanks to both of you for the information you have provided.
