On the Matrix E1 the objective is to set up 2 VLANs eg; 111 & 112 so that they can only talk to each other. An additional VLAN 113 is created and is only allowed to telnet or ftp to the VLANs 111 & 112. This has been acheived via the appropriate access lists. The Matrix is a core Layer 3 switch - tailing off via copper uplinks are several remote 3Com switches. The 3Com switches are running a flat VLAN.
I would like to add an additional VLAN to the 3Com switches and becuase there is only one uplink I am trying to use VLT. This when enabled seems to cause no end of routing issues. At the Matrix end I have tried setting up the uplink port as tagged and untagged to try and resolve the issue.
Can anyone advise on the best format / configuartion to use for the 3Com switches to talk to the E1 and for the additional VLAN to be added?

This may be a simple question but are you sure that your 3Com supports 802.1q trunking per standard?  If they are doing something odd like Cisco's ISL then you may have a problem.
