Hi,

This is the error I'm getting when I reinstalled the Centura application and tried to run it. It's a sqlbase local database. I'm using CTD 1.5 in Windows XP.

After the failed login displays error 4005.
Reason: Attempting to open an existing file and a failure has occurred.
Remedy: Determine and correct the cause of the open file failure. Verify that the specified file exists

The sql.ini looks as follows:
_____________________________________

[dbnt1sv]
dbdir=C:\Centura
;servername=Server1,sqlapipe
;dbname=ISLAND,sqlapipe
dbname=MYDBS,sqlapipe

[dbnt1sv.dll]
comdll=sqlapipe

[dbnt1sv.apipe]
debug=15,dbntsrv.dbg

[win32client]
clientname=Win32Client

[win32client.dll]
comdll=sqlapipe

[win32client.apipe]
debug=15,client.dbg

[odbcrtr]
odbctrace=off
odbctracefile=sql.log

[win32client.ws32]
;serverpath=server1,localhost/island

[win32client.ntnbi]
;

The username and password are the default ones and are hard coded in the program.

I cannot connect in SQL talk either.

In the ODBC administrator it is setup as a User DSN giving the name of the database in the setting.

Thanks for the help.

Hi,

am encountering the same error and wondered if you've found a solution?

Would appreciate any help.

Hello rbmiller,

The only solution I found was to get the latest version of the product.

For me this is not an option since my Company decided not to purchase any more upgrades.

In my case, since the app I was having trouble with was fairly simple I decided to migrate it to a MS Access app. I still have a couple of these apps hanging around and, as soon as they give any me hassle I will apply the same treatment to them.

Good luck with your quest.
