Outlook Contacts

I ran into the same problem when I created new user IDs and copied everyone's mail. First open Tools and Accounts. (I'm not sure what the titles in the menus are in English, I'm using Outlook in Finnish, but I'll try to translate. Just look for something similar.) In the Folders-part select Modify or add folders or contacts. After clicking Next you see a list of contacts folders. Select the first one and click Modify. Then click Delete Contacts.

I recommend you back up your contacts first to a .pst file, it shouldn't take too long. If you deleted a wrong contacts list, you can just add it again using the same routine.

If this did not help, try checking the contacts settings. Open the contacts just like you would when you compose a new message. Do whatever you need to do to get past the announcement about address lists. When you are at the point where you would select your list, choose Settings from the Tools menu. The first text box is for selecting which address list is first. In this window you can also add more address list from various locations and check which address list or contacts file or folder is connected to each title in the list.
