Is there a way to convert a pdf document from two page spread to single pages?  I don't know what software it was originally created with.

Thanks for any suggestions.

FYI - I can take a different, single page document and go to File > Document Properties > Initial View > Page Layout and change it to Facing.  Then when I save and reopen, it's in two page spread format.

However, I can't do the reverse with the document in question... it stays as two page spread no matter what I do.  Can I manipulate this in PageMaker, Photoshop, etc...?

Go to View menu/Page layout and select Continuous.  The Save As and select Adobe PDF.

Whe making changes to a pdf it's best to Save As and select pdf as the format.

You will need a plugin like Quite Imposing Plus to do this.

What you will need to do is, normally in spreads your page 1 and your last page will be single pages, extract these two pages to there own files.

Then you need to crop the left side of the spreads, save the new cropped file as Even pages.

Then crop the right side and save it as odds.

Then load up your Evens.pdf and your Odds.pdf, then in quite

Plugins>Quite Imposing Plus> Shuffle Even/Odd Pages

Pick  4. (Undo 3) Merge alternate pages from two documents

Odds from: Odds.pdf
Evens From: Evens.pdf

Then just insert your Cover as pg1 and your last page at the end of the document.

That’s how I do it anyways.
Cheers

Sorry,

I didn’t read enough, I thought the file was physically in spreads. If so, if you ever have that problem that’s how you do it :P

To make the viewing standard, I remember doing that on Acrobat 4, using Java Actions. You could set the Zoom and page layout to what you want so it displays the same no matter what peoples settings are.

Im using 6 now, and for the life of me I cant remember what it was I did to do that. Im mostly working with stuff for print. Im sure someone in here can tell you how to do that.
