Domain Login Netstructure 3110

Domain Login Netstructure 3110

(OP)
Hi, I am using Intel Netstructure 3110 and have configured SST tunnel instead of IPSec. Now the problem is that I am not able to connect to my domain over this tunnel. Any suggestions as to what I am missing here. Many thanks in advance!

Regards

RE: Domain Login Netstructure 3110

This is working fine at our site.  I assume that you mean a windows domain?  Once the tunnel is created you should be doing this from the start of the client.  What client are you running.  I am running v701p5.  This used to be available free on the HP site as well as upgrades to the SA 3110.  You will get the HP splash screen but it is still Intel Inside .

You must make sure that you installed so that it creates the seperate network devices in your network connections.  I have found that you need at least two.  You then need to make sure that it is passing DNS and WINS if you are using it.  DNS is a must or it won't find the AD in a 2000 or above domain.

When you install the client you need to make sure that you have it starting at windows startup.  Then when you give the PC the three finger salute to get name and password you should first be presented with the VPN tunnel username and password prompt.  Make sure to check the box that in the lower left that lets you log into the domain and you should be set.  Any other questions post a note and I will give you more specifics.

Many thanks Fred. Actually since it occured so long back, we now have abondoned it. But I still would love to work on it again. The problem is that our old Administrator didn't keep the management software to 3110. I wonder from where can I find it. Could you please help in this matter also? Take care!

RE: Domain Login Netstructure 3110

I am using the HP version of the software both client and appliance.  (Just HP branded.  Software still from Intel/Shiva)  If you look on the HP site you should be able to download all the software.  It takes you though some hoops and appears that they will charge you.  After you get through all the prompts (no CC needed) you can then download the clients, appliance, and the Management Software.

I do all my management of the box from the command line.  I don't have a complicated config and it changes rarely.

Any questions give a shout!

Fred
