HI:

I have a server running SAMBA that bunch of windows clients connect to.

I have been having an issue with a couple of win2k machines writing data to server (running NETBSD with SMB shares) . When there is high I/O operations on the disk, the write crashes and I get the following error in the event viewer

Source: MRxSMB
Event ID: 50
{Lost Delayed-Write Data} The system was attempting to transfer file data from buffers to \Device\LanmanRedirector. The write operation failed, and only some of the data may have been written to the file.

I have been looking on the net and noticed that a bunch of SAMBA users have the same issue and patching up Windows to the latest service pack (like Microsoft suggests) does not help.

Does anyone know why this is caused and what the resolution is?

Thanks,
Ram.

You can try setting
SO_RCVBUF = 8192
and
write raw = no
in your smb.conf file.
