FAX Service Cannot Logon to MAPI Profile
Posted: 4 Oct 02
|
Occassionally after un/installing a software package or IE update the MAPI profile name references for the FAX service are changed to graphic characters. The FAX Service logon attempt will fail as a result. (This happened to me yesterday when I uninstalled IE 6.0.) You cannot uninstall the FAX service in 2000 Professional and re-install it.
The fix is as simple as deleting the FAX printer in the Printers folder when you are logged on with Administrative privileges. Next, open Control Panel and double click on the FAX icon. Go to the Advanced Options tab and click on the Add new fax printer button.
That's all there is to it. |
