The Double Quotes Trick
Posted: 28 Jun 02

There has been a lot of questions about double quotes lately.  Instead of answering them one by one, here's the answer for you.
say you need to put a quoteation mark into a file.   Like this

str$ = "he said"i need quotes.""
PUT #1, 1, str$

you can't do it, heres the trick.  The ascii number for the quotation mark is 34.

str$ = "he said" + CHR$(34) + "i need quotes." + CHR$(34)
PUT #1, 1, str$
